Open the deal’s Sources area to upload documents. You need permission to manage sources in that deal.

Supported formats

The upload picker accepts: Scanned PDFs and supported images can use OCR. Damaged, password-protected, or unreadable files may fail processing even when their extension is supported. Unsupported files are not accepted into the normal document processing flow.
1

Select the files

Click Upload or drag files or folders into Sources. Folder uploads retain their relative paths for source organization.
2

Wait for transfers to finish

Follow the upload progress and any file-specific errors. Keep the page open until transfers are complete. Large selections are split into bounded upload requests, and file and request size limits apply.
3

Check processing readiness

Accepted uploads continue through background processing. Text extraction, search indexing, and classification have separate states. You can review ready files while the remaining files are still processing.
4

Inspect the results

Open a completed source to review its contents and classification. Check Coverage Map for linked evidence or suggestions. If a file failed, read the error and retry or replace that file as appropriate.

Search and classification are separate

An indexed source can be available to Dealmate before classification finishes. Conversely, a successful file transfer is not proof that the source is searchable. Check readiness before concluding that a question covers the whole data room. For large uploads, wait until important files have finished indexing before running final analysis. Processing speed depends on document size, format, OCR needs, and available capacity. See reviewing documents and how processing works.
