The client portal is a separate, lightweight surface designed for the target company. Instead of emailing documents back and forth or sharing credentials, you generate a secure link and send it to the target. They see a simple upload interface tied to your information request, and every file they submit flows directly into your deal — classified automatically, just like any document you upload yourself.

How to Set Up the Portal

1

Open the deal settings

Navigate to the deal you’re working on and open Settings from the deal navigation. You’ll find the client portal configuration in the sharing section.
2

Generate a share link for the deal

Click Generate Portal Link. Plomo creates a unique, deal-scoped URL for the target company. The link is tied to this deal only and carries no access to your broader Plomo workspace.
3

Send the link to the target company

Copy the portal link and share it with the target company directly — by email, secure message, or however your process works. No account creation or invitation email is required on their end.
4

The target company uploads documents via the portal

When the target opens the portal link, they see your information request displayed as a list of items. They can upload documents against specific items, making it easy to match submissions to your request structure. The portal requires no login and is accessible from any browser.
5

Uploaded files flow into your deal automatically

Every file the target submits appears in your deal’s document list immediately. Plomo classifies each upload against the deal taxonomy just like any other document — you don’t need to do anything extra to bring portal uploads into your workflow.

What the Target Company Sees

The portal is intentionally minimal. Your target company sees:
  • The information request items you’ve defined for the deal
  • An upload interface for attaching documents to specific items
  • Confirmation that their files were received
That’s it. The portal is a one-way upload surface — targets cannot browse other documents, view classification results, read Copilot sessions, or access anything else in the deal workspace.

Security and Access Scope

Share links are scoped to a single deal. A target company using the portal link has no visibility into:
  • Other deals in your workspace
  • The main Plomo dashboard
  • Classification labels or reasoning applied to their documents
  • Any Copilot or CIM sessions in the deal
Links can be deactivated from deal settings at any time. Once deactivated, the portal URL stops accepting new uploads.
Use the Coverage tab to track which information request items are still outstanding after the target uploads their documents. If items remain open, you can follow up with the target and direct them back to the portal to fill in the gaps.
Target company users interact only with the client portal. They cannot see classification results, Copilot sessions, or CIM drafts — and they have no access to documents uploaded by your team. The portal is strictly a submission interface.
